THE HENRY BENDER ARTISTIC GUARDIAN AWARD

This award was established to recognize similar unheard and unseen volunteers in Humboldt County non-profit arts organizations who give selflessly of their time, energy, and talents to handle details necessary to keep art alive in our community. The annual award will be presented to one individual in Humboldt County who has garnered a minimum of 25 years accumulated service to the maintenance and preservation of the arts.

The Official Henry Bender Artistic Guardian Award Form is available here on the Scotia Band website (scotiaband2.org), and must be received at Scotia Band, Attn: Henry Bender Award Committee, P.O. Box 3, Scotia, CA 95565, prior to October 1st to be considered. Any nominations received after October 1st will be considered for the following year. All completed nomination forms must be accompanied by a description of volunteer service of 250 words or less and have the name of the organization and years of service which accumulate to a minimum of 25 years. All submissions become the property of Scotia Band and will not be returned. One honoree will be selected each year at the discretion of the Scotia Band Henry Bender Service Awards Committee. Nominations may be made for posthumous recognition.

The recipient of the Henry Bender Artistic Guardian Award will be announced at the annual Scotia Band Winter Dinner Meeting, and will be presented an individual plaque documenting their volunteer contribution to arts preservation. In addition to the name of the recipient, the name of the organization and years of service will be added to the perpetual plaque on display in the Humboldt Swiss Hall building, and home of Scotia Band.
